iPad cover

I've just realized I need to show iPad cover which I made for my friend last summer.

About 3 hours, machine washable cotton and needles are needed :)

I use cotton yarn for this cover instead of wool or acrylic to prevent a buildup of static electricity charge. I hope it works.

Yarn: 
Lily Sugar'n Cream Solids & Denim, 105 grams 1.5 skeins = 180 yds / 165 m,  Ecru color (Worsted / 10 ply , 100% Cotton, 120 yds / 110  m in 50 grams)
Needle: US 7 - 4.5 mm
Finished size: for iPad 2 - 7.3” x 9.5” / 18.5 x 24 cm.

Cover is fully seamless and knitted bottom up in the round. I started the cover bottom as a toe-up sock :)

Я  только сегодня поняла, что не показывала тут чехол для iPad, который я связала для подруги еще летом.

Понадобится около 3-х часов времени, хлопковая пряжа, которую можно жестоко стирать в машине и спицы :)

Решила использовать хлоковую пряжу вместо шерсти или акрила для предотвращения накопления статического электричества (постоянно получаю "в глаз" от электроприборов). Надеюсь это работает.

Чехол связар по кругу без швов снизу вверх. Начало дна как у носков с мыска :)

Winter Sun a.k.a. Lempster

My version of Lempster pullover by Norah Gaughan
I didn't like this pullover from the first sight. But finished projects of my friends turned my mind.
At the same time I received gift from Natalia - sunny yellow wool yarn in amount enough to knit this pullover.
Such a great coincidence :)

Yarn: 560 grams = 1221 yds (1116 m) of Elann Peruvian Highland Wool
Needles: US 7 - 4.5 mm and US 6 - 4.0 mm
Size: M for S with positive ease.
Modifications: CO as mentioned for size S with 11 sts for shoulders, continue with raglan inc for size M; 2x2 ribbing edges; medalion pattern started lower; length; long sleeves.

Knitting start of 2014

The first projects of 2014 :)

1. Headbands by me.

Yarn:  Knit Picks City Tweed HW (Romance red and Morning glory colorways), 45 grams = 74 yds (68 m) for one headband.

Needle: US 7 - 4.5 mm

2. Aramis socks by Caoua Coffee

As usual I knitted a toe-up socks using stitch pattern from Aramis socks only.

Yarn: Cascade Yarns Heritage Solids (5631 Charcoal), 90 grams = 393 yds (360m)

Needle:  US 0 - 2.0 mm.

Bray

It's a tradition to knit something new for Sheep and Wool Festival.
I wanted to do that too, so I choose Bray by Jared Flood.
But I knit this pullover by picture.
My own gauge + calculations + well known cables = pullover which looks like Bray.

Size: my (S + 2" positive ease)
Yarn: 460 grams = 1003 yads / 917 m of Queensland Collection Leché, Worsted / 10 ply  (40% extrafine merino wool, 30% microfiber, 20% milk protein, 10% silk), 50 g = 109 yds / 100 m
Needles: US 7 - 4.5 mm, US 5 - 3.75 mm

Debardeur

Gift for my husband again is Debardeur vest by Bergère de France.

Size: L
Yarn: 1560 yds / 1427 m of Miscellaneous Wool-Silk Luxury Cones in Slate gray colorway (about 550 grams).  Yarn held double.
Needles: US 6 - 4.0 mm, US 4 - 3.5 mm

Halyard shawl

Halyard shawl is top down half circle shawl with two color body and cable & lace edge. #3 of Seaside collection.
Pattern is currently being tested and will be available for purchase in the mid August.

Shawl size: 73”/185 cm * 20”/43 cm
Yarn: Knit Picks Palette, color A (Oyster Heather) - 460 yds/420 m, color B (Sweet Potato) - 230 yds/210m
Needles: US4 / 3.5 mm, US7 / 4.5 mm

Mulberry cabled yoke pullover

Something warm and cozy.... And I like winter from now :))))

Yarn: 1090 yds (997m) of Elann Peruvian Highland Donegal (Worsted / 10 ply,  100% Wool, 109 yds/100m in 50 grams) in Mulberry colorway.
Needles:  US 7 - 4.5 mm, US 6 - 4.0 mm
My goal was to run out all yarn and I did it :)

Пряжа: 500 г./ 997 м.  Elann Peruvian Highland Donegal (100% шерсть, 100 м. в 50 г.) in Mulberry colorway 

Спицы:  4.5 , 4.0 мм. 
Была цель использовать всю пряжу, и я сделала это :)

Mods:
1. Bottom-up yoke and top-down body and sleeves from provisional cast-on
2. Short rows on back and sleeves
3. Long sleeves (40 sts in the round before rib)
4. Neck on 75 sts instead of 90 sts.
5. k3, p2 rib.
6. I didn't use pattern instruction for body and sleeves, for yoke only.

Изменения: 
1. Кокетка связана снизу вверх, а тело и рукава сверху вниз от открытого набора (точно не знаю как называется по русски provisional cast-on). 
2. Добавилены укороченые ряды по спинке и рукавам ниже кокетки
3. Длинные рукава (в оригинале до локтя), 40 петель по кругу перед резинкой
4. Воротник на 70 петлях, а не 90 как в описании
5. Резинка 3 лицевые, 2 изнаночные
6. Не использовала описание для тела и рукавов, вязала по своим расчетам. По описанию связана только кокетка.

2. Fallberry Mitts by Anne Hanson in blue

I’ve use stitch pattern only from Fallberry Mitts and followed my preferred method to knit mitts  (я использовала только узор от Fallberry Mitts, вязала митенки своим привычным способом)

Yarn: 1 skein = 164 yds (150 m) of Queensland Collection Joey's Baby Silk (60% Wool, 20% Silk, 20% Bamboo)
Needle: US 2½ - 3.0 mm

Spruce Hat and Mitts patterns

I've just finished my new design Spruce Hat and Mitts in textured and cable pattern for KnitPicks Independent Designer Program.

   

It is a good project for beginners and fast funny knit for advanced knitters.
Hat is seamless and knitted in the round.
Mitts are knitted in the round from the cuff to the top.

Gray / Серый Мыш

Finally I've finished my long-long-long term project :)
I've designed this jacket for my husband.
Наконец-то я закончила мегадолгосрочный проект - жакет для мужа :) 

Size: L , 28"/71cm zipper length
Yarn: 18.1 skeins = 2078 yds (1900 m) of Elann Sonata (100% Cotton, 50g - 115yds/105m)
Needle: US 4 - 3.5 mm, US 2½ - 3.0 mm.
Elements: cables, ribbing, pockets, zipper, faux looping.

Размер: L, длина молнии 71 см.
Пряжа: 18,1 мотков (900+ грамм) = 1900 м  Elann Sonata (100% хлопок, 50г - 105м) 
Спицы: 3,5 мм, 3,0 мм
Элементы: араны, резинка, карманы, молния, ложная кеттлевка 

 

On my needles

As usual I have a several WIPs and try to work with all of them.
One WIP in the time is boring, isn't it?
This gray project is the main now. It will be man's jacket with pockets in the future (in the nearest future I hope).
Yarn: Elann Sonata (DK / 8 ply, 50 gr - 115 yds/105 m)
Needle:  US 4 - 3.5 mm, US 2½ - 3.0 mm

Как обычно у меня несколько проектов в работе? стараюсь вязать все одновременно. Один проект в работе это ж как-то скучно :)

Это серое в будущем будет мужской курткой с карманами (в ближайшем будущем, я надеюсь).
